The High Holidays is always a blur of preparation, consternation and re-dedication. I know that there will be many folks present that I only get to see on the Holy Days and I love having something special to share. One of the moments that stands out for me was truly a "l'dor v'dor" moment. (From generation to generation)
During the construction of the new mantles, Annelise discovered that there were dedications embroidered in linings of the old mantles. She cut them out and appliqued them into the new mantles' linings. We invited as many of the people mentioned in the old inscriptions as we could find.
Joseph and James Reibman were able to join us for the inauguration ceremony during the Rosh Hashanah Torah Service.
The Torah Mantles were created through the generosity of Larry Bitterman, Mark Breitbart, Susan & Richard Master and Nina & Norman Gruenberg. Annelise Davis designed and constructed them out of silk noil. They are hand-embroidered. May they serve us for many years to come!
